Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using our services.

Acceptance of Terms

By using Hostlinko's services, you agree to these TOS. You are responsible for all activities conducted through your account and your clients' accounts. Hostlinko offers a range of services including web hosting, domain registration, reseller hosting, VPS hosting, cloud hosting, and SSL certificates. Before signing up for any of our hosting plans or services, all customers must consent to our terms and conditions. You agree to use only licensed and legitimate third-party software when using our services. Hostlinko reserves the right to suspend or terminate a customer's access to any or all of our services at any time if we determine that the account has been misused or used inappropriately.

By using our services, you agree to:

  • Safeguard the security of your account.
  • Respect copyrights and trademarks.
  • Adhere to usage limitations.
  • Maintain backups of your content.
  • Cooperate with verification processes if required.
  • Acknowledge that customer conversations with staff may be recorded.

Our Responsibilities

Hostlinko agrees to provide services to customers in compliance with these TOS and the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone and to deactivate any account for policy violations. Hostlinko will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation of the AUP.

Changes to Terms

Hostlinko may change these TOS and the AUP at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. Changes in policy are not grounds for early contract termination or non-payment.

Account Suspension and Termination

  • Hostlinko reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of our policies.
  • Customers will be notified of violations and have 12 hours to resolve the issue.
  • Repeated violations may result in termination of the violating account.
  • Suspension or termination of services does not entitle customers to a refund.

Payments and Billing

We will provide you with at least fourteen (14) days' notice of your renewal pricing before the payment due date for monthly, annual, or longer-term plans. Unless otherwise provided, Hostlinko will automatically bill your payment method on file seven (7) days before the due date, on the due date, and seven (7) days after the due date.

You expressly acknowledge, agree, and authorize us to automatically bill the applicable fee and/or charge your credit card or other payment methods on file for each Renewal Term, unless you terminate or cancel the Services prior to such charge. All fees are billed in the purchase currency and are subject to change with prior notice to you.

Hostlinko is only able to automatically collect payments from customers with credit cards stored on file. All other payment methods (e.g., PayPal one-time payments, Rave by Flutterwave, and any other connected payment gateway) must be initiated manually by you. It is your responsibility to ensure that all fees are paid no later than their payment due date. Hostlinko screens all orders for fraud, and if your account is flagged, your order will not be processed.

Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

You must utilize Hostlinko's services exclusively for lawful purposes. Transmission, storage, or presentation of any information, data, or material in violation of the laws of Nigeria or the United States is strictly prohibited. By agreeing to these terms, you indemnify and hold harmless Hostlinko from any claims resulting from your use of the service which damages you or any other party.

Hostlinko reserves the right to terminate Services for any customer or end user activity that exposes it to legal liability or endangers its ability to provide services to other customers. The following activities are considered violations of this agreement:

  1. Pornography: Hosting, distributing, or linking to pornography and adult-related materials.
  2. CPU/Memory/Resource Abuse: Consuming excessive server resources causing performance issues.
  3. DoS Source/Target: Being the source or target of a Denial of Service Attack.
  4. Copyright Infringement: Hosting, distributing, or linking to copyrighted materials without permission.
  5. Forgery: Faking an IP Address, Hostname, Email Address, or Header.
  6. Fraud Site: Hosting or linking to a website intended to deceive the public.
  7. Identity Theft: Hosting, distributing, or linking to stolen account identification information.
  8. Infection: Hosting, distributing, or linking to exploits, trojans, viruses, or worms.
  9. Phishing: Identity theft by email under false pretense.
  10. Spam (email, list, site or web): Sending, hosting or advertising unsolicited bulk or commercial email/content.
  11. Spamhaus: Spam causing blacklisting of an IP for malicious activity.
  12. Terrorist Site: Hosting or linking to a site advocating terrorism.
  13. Toolz / Warez: Hosting, distributing, or linking to hacking tools or pirated software.
  14. Any other material deemed threatening or obscene by Hostlinko.

Hosting accounts may not be resold unless the account is a Reseller, VPS, or dedicated server account. All domains, add-on domains, and subdomains must be for sites controlled by or promoting published content or businesses solely controlled by the owner of the account.

Backup Policy

Hostlinko performs nightly backups of Shared Hosting, Reseller Hosting, and WordPress hosting accounts; however, these backups are for Hostlinko's administrative purposes only and are NOT GUARANTEED. Customers are responsible for maintaining their own backups. Always back up your site to your personal computer.

You may not use your hosting account as a backup solution. Our Services are designed to host your website only and may not be used as a data repository. cPanel-generated backups stored on the server will be automatically deleted after seven (7) days.

If we terminate or suspend your hosting service due to a violation of our policy or terms, we will not provide any backup for any data.

Anti-SPAM Policy

SPAMing, or the sending of unsolicited email, from a Hostlinko server or using a return email address maintained on a Hostlinko server, is strictly prohibited. Sites found to be in violation of our SPAM policies will be immediately deactivated. For anyone intentionally spamming on our systems, we reserve the right to bill them at a rate of $100/hour for any cleanup, research, and related work.

Money-Back Guarantee and Refund Policies

At Hostlinko, we strive to ensure your satisfaction with our services. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for our web hosting plans only. The guarantee period ends exactly 14 days from the day your account was originally activated, not the day the order was placed, and is not valid for renewals. Setup fees are non-refundable, and external services such as dedicated IP addresses and installation charges are also non-refundable. Outside of the guarantee period, Hostlinko has a no-refund policy. Only first-time accounts are eligible for a refund.

Suspended Service Renewal Ultimatum

Hosting accounts suspended due to overdue invoices must be renewed within 14 days of suspension. If the hosting account is not renewed within 14 days, a redemption fee of ₦1,000 will be added to the renewal invoice to keep the website backup on our server for an additional 16 days. If the invoice is not cleared within this period, the hosting account and all backups will be automatically and permanently terminated.

Disputes and Chargebacks

Attempting to dispute or chargeback payments without valid reason will result in service suspension and fines. Such actions are considered fraudulent and will be treated as such.

Security Violations Policy

Users are prohibited from violating or attempting to violate the security of Hostlinko. Violations of system or network security may result in civil or criminal liability and may involve cooperation with law enforcement. Prohibited actions include unauthorized access, probing or scanning vulnerabilities, interfering with service to any user, host or network, and forging packet or email headers.

Users are responsible for keeping their confidential login details private. Hostlinko is not responsible for security breaches due to negligence in protecting login details, cPanel, or WordPress admin credentials.

Fraud Policy

In the event fraud is discovered, the fraudulent customer is subject to immediate suspension or termination at the sole discretion of Hostlinko. All information available will be submitted to local authorities and financial institutions involved. Fraudulent customers will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Financial Liability

Hostlinko is not liable for service interruptions beyond our control. Our maximum liability for negligence is limited to the service charges during the period of interruption. Attempts to violate the TOS/AUP may result in immediate termination of services without refund.

Support

Hostlinko provides hardware support and limited software support. Fully managed services include support for default software installations. Additional support is available for a fee. We do not offer support for web development issues or code debugging — all server-related updates are handled by us.

Support Abuse Policy

At Hostlinko, we prioritize treating our customers with the utmost respect, and we expect the same from you. If our staff feels they are being consistently addressed in a demeaning or rude manner, your account may be suspended. In the event we terminate service for support abuse, customers will be given ten (10) days' notice to find a new host.

Data Transfer and Migration

Hostlinko offers data transfer services as a courtesy. We cannot guarantee the availability or success of data transfers. Free transfers are available for the first 30 days; charges apply thereafter.

DMCA Complaints

We take DMCA complaints seriously. Violations of copyright laws will result in account suspension or termination. To report a DMCA violation, please email [email protected] with the subject "DMCA".

Usage and Overages

Customers must manage their usage within allocated limits. Exceeding these limits may result in warnings and service suspension. Hosting accounts are not for remote file storage.

IP Blacklists

Accounts causing IP blacklisting will be suspended or terminated. Operating on behalf of persons or firms listed in the Spamhaus Register of Known Spam Operations database is a violation of this AUP.

Denial of Service Attacks

Activities affecting service availability for others are prohibited. Clients must ensure their servers are secure. Unauthorized entry or use of another system will result in immediate account termination.

Liabilities

Hostlinko makes no endorsements or claims regarding the services offered by our customers and will not be liable for any disputes or claims against said customers, nor for any content on any server in our network.

Payment Verification

Customers agree to potentially having to submit to fraud checking measures, including providing a scan copy of a credit card authorization form and a valid photo ID.

Indemnification

The customer agrees to protect, indemnify, and hold Hostlinko harmless from any and all liabilities, losses, expenses, claims, and reasonable attorney's fees incurred by Hostlinko arising from any services provided or performed, or any products sold by the customer.

Account Information and Domain WHOIS Info

You are required to provide current, complete, and accurate information for your account and the WHOIS information for your domain name(s), and to keep this information current. Any changes must be made within seven (7) days of the change. Newly registered domain names will default to using our name-servers unless you provide alternate name-server information by logging into your account.
